Facelift at Vanity 360
Only some people win the lottery of good skin pliability, and that becomes more obvious the older we get. As we age, our skin begins to lose its elasticity because of the breakdown in collagen. In addition, the deep anatomical structures of the face begin to change. These include the muscles of the cheeks and around the eyes, as well as the fat in the cheeks. All of these factors combined can often make the face and neck wrinkle and sag, causing many people to look older than they actually feel. If you are concerned about the signs of aging on your face, a facelift can be the ideal cosmetic procedure for you.

What Is a Facelift?
Technically called a rhytidectomy, a facelift is a cosmetic procedure designed to restore the tissues and structure of the face to a lifted, youthful state. A facelift improves visible signs of aging in the face and neck, including:
- Sagging caused by relaxed skin and weak muscles
- Deep wrinkles caused by repeated emoting
- Volume loss caused by drooping or diminished fat
- Jowl development in the cheeks and jaw
- Loose skin and excess fat in the neck
Aging in the face is caused by various factors, including loss of facial fat, thinning of the skin, sun damage, gravity, smoking, genetics, and stress.
What Are the Benefits of Facelift Surgery?
-
Reduced Wrinkles
Over time, the collagen in our skin breaks down, leading to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Facelift surgery removes loose, excess skin to produce a smooth, youthful skin texture that will take years off your appearance.
-
A More Defined Jawline
Displaced and drooping tissues along the jawline can create the appearance of jowls. Facelift surgery tightens the muscles and removes excess tissue for a sleek jawline, creating a more defined, attractive transition from the face to the neck.
-
Firmer Neck and Facial Contours
Sagging corners of the mouth and drooping tissue in the cheeks and neck can significantly age your appearance. Facelift surgery repositions the underlying muscles and removes any excess to achieve firmer facial and neck contours.

What Does Facelift Surgery Entail?
Facelift surgery is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia at our Hospital in Hanoi. The process consists of a consultation, surgery, and follow-up appointments.
Consultation
Facelifts are highly individualized procedures. At your consultation, Dr. Huy will evaluate your face type and shape and discuss your facial rejuvenation goals. He will ask you about your medical history, current medications, and whether you have any conditions that could cause complications, such as blood clotting issues. Dr. Huy will then lay out your facial rejuvenation options and create a surgical plan. He will provide an overview of how to prepare for surgery, what to expect on the day of surgery, and what to anticipate in terms of recovery. Your consultation is an excellent opportunity to ask Dr. Huy any questions you may have and to discuss your concerns and expectations.

Facelift Recovery at Vanity 360
-
Immediately After
Patients are moved to a recovery area for observation before being discharged to go home with their designated driver. Bandages may be placed around the face to minimize swelling and bruising. Post-operative instructions will be provided regarding how to care for the incision site, concerns to watch for, and best recovery practices. Some walking may be recommended to promote circulation and healing, but rest is important at this stage.
Pain medication is prescribed to ease any swelling and discomfort. Our Recovery Protocol, which includes supplements, vitamins, and anti-bruising medications, begins immediately following surgery to promote healing.
-
1 Week
Within the first week, patients will usually have at least one follow-up appointment to ensure healing is progressing as expected.
Patients are usually able to return to work and light activities. Swelling and bruising begin to resolve, and sutures are removed after seven to nine days.
-
2 to 3 Weeks
Continued resolution of swelling and bruising. Dr. Huyrecommends some light physical activities, like walking, to promote healing. However, patients should avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting until they are cleared to do so.
Numbness, tightness, and tingling sensations are all normal at this point.
-
4 to 6 Weeks
Results are more apparent. Patients may return to their normal activities, including vigorous exercise and lifting, once cleared by Dr. Huy. Most patients feel comfortable being seen at important social engagements, although a slight feeling of tightness may last for several months. Incision sites may present a pink or red hue but will continue to fade with time.
Patient Testimonials
At Vanity 360, Dr. Tristan Huy can recommend the procedures that will help you achieve the results you want, based on your individual needs.
My closest friend went to Dr. Huy for a full face lift 3 weeks ago and I’m amazed at the results. It usually takes 6 weeks for everything to settle in but she’s looking fantastic this early on. There was very little bruising or swelling. Dr. Huy was so attentive – he called several times to check up on her and also had 3 after care appointments to be sure everything went well. I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Tristan Huy for your plastic surgery. I’ve been seeing him for Botox and fillers. Always a great experience.
